Let’s get this first thing out of the way. The first thing we saw in Kash’s brand new music video for “Feel Like” was the huge stadium for the Durham Bulls Triple AAA baseball team, affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays. They are based in North Carolina, which is where Kash is from, very close to Fayetteville which is the hometown of J. Cole.
Kash is certainly networking correctly to get a chance to record a music video in the Durham Bulls stadium, but when listening to “Feel Like”, we weren’t all that impressed. The whole thing just sounds so generic and monotone. That’s not our only issue; the lyrics are also very bland and lacks creativity. To quote, “Lately I’ve been having a lot on my mind, that’s why I’m making these *&^& songs”, and this is the chorus, which doesn’t change in delivery with his verses either. A distinct rappers voice just cannot be taught, as much as we’d all like to sound like Snoop Dogg, the reality is we can’t.
To finish, this music video matches the quality of the song; it’s something that has been done before many of times. Someone singing while looking at the camera, doing many hand gestures, and having a cool looking place in the background. We just wouldn’t listen to see it again. Let us know if you think differently below.
